He is current President of the European Sleep Research Society (ESRS) and a former President of the European Respiratory Society (ERS). Walter is a Research Fellow at the UCD Conway Research Institute and is part of a multidisciplinary research group based in St. Vincent’s and the Conway Institute, which collaborates with other groups within UCD and throughout Europe.

Dra. Ghizlane Aarab
Dr. Ghizlane Aarab is an Associate Professor at the Department of Orofacial Pain and Dysfunction at the Academic Centre for Dentistry in Amsterdam (ACTA).
She teaches at the undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate levels on orofacial pain and on dental sleep medicine.
In 2011, Dr. Aarab defended her PhD thesis entitled “Mandibular Advancement Device Therapy in Obstructive Sleep Apnea” at the University of Amsterdam.
Besides her position at ACTA, Dr. Aarab is currently affiliated to the Université de Montréal, Québec, Canada, as a guest researcher, where she is working on the associations between sleep bruxism and obstructive sleep apnea.
